For anyone who stresses over what size face to get for a woman’s watch, there are 2 ladies’ sizes- a petite and a midsize. The petite is very small.
As an example, a petite Santos would be perfect if your lady has tiny wrists- like 4.5″ dia. (11.5 cm). For a woman who is about 5’6″ (1.65 m) tall, average bone structure, the midsize Tank Francaise would be the perfect size for her. The petite would have just looked awkward on an average size wrist in my opinion.
All of this really comes down to preference, but generally, watch faces should be proportional to the wrist/hand size.
